In Cuffs tension is created through the camerawork between characters. On one occasion the Chiefs son Jake has been presented a job as a police officer, through out the episode the camera work used helps us see that Ryan doesn't agree with his colleague and how he got the job , this is presented with a focus pull of Jake as Ryan says 'we don't care what peoples parents do'. This shows tension in this scene and shows us the emotions of Jake and the humiliation he is feeling in this moment.

One other example is when the police are in the car chase, there are multiple different examples of camerawork such as a birds eye view shot it is used to present to the audience the surroundings and where they are and also shows the car chase and the speed of the action. They also use close up shots to show the characters feelings and so the audience can really feel the emotions and relate building tension and suspense.  Lastly another example of camerawork use is to create realism in the show, this occurs when the 4 police officers are having their lunch break we see a shot reverse shot this is used to create meaning and realism. The audience get to connect with the characters in this scene and see how they react to certain statements.
