CUFFS

Cuffs is TV drama series that shows the life of a police officer in Brighton and Sussex area. The drama series first aired on BBC One on the 28th October 2015. The series is made to be a comedy as well as a drama to add some humor. Sadly in December 2015 when the last episode aired the BBC announced that the show would be cancelled.  It was highly criticized the public and there were petitions to try get it back on the air. There are lots of different ethnic groups. There are also lots of different social class groups there are a group of police and then there are drug addicts that live in a not so nice part of Brighton. One of the characters also openly admits he is gay giving a more open minded society and teaching others to be more accepting. Some might say that the show shouldn't be before the watershed as it shows nudity and self harm but others say it shouldn't be because it isn't actually shown any of the violence or self harm happening just the after math of it all.

  1. Grade B+
Thoughtful comments that you support with evidence, especially on diversity and the watershed issue.
What is the function of an opening sequence for a TV programme?
How did this opening sequence appeal to its audience?
